What no edition includes
- Publisher: Microsoft has retired it, and it no longer comes with Office 2024.
- Teams: downloaded separately, free for personal use.
- 1 TB of OneDrive storage and built-in Copilot features: these are reserved for a Microsoft 365 subscription. Our comparison Office 2024 or Microsoft 365 explains these differences in detail.
Which one should you choose?
- Family or student use, on PC or Mac: Home is enough if you don't need Outlook.
- Freelancer or small business on Mac: Home & Business, the business edition sold to the general public on macOS.
- Windows PC, at home or in the office: Professional Plus has everything, including Access. It is also the edition available as a volume licence to equip several PCs with a single key.
One licence, how many computers?
An Office 2024 licence covers a single computer. For two PCs you need two licences, or a volume licence if you are equipping at least five. This is the main practical difference from Microsoft 365 Family, which covers up to six people for as long as the subscription is paid.
System requirements
Office 2024 Professional Plus runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10. Allow about 4 GB of disk space and an internet connection for installation and activation. Step-by-step installation is covered in our guide Install and activate Office 2024 Professional Plus.
